Kim and Rea Prince.
Ilsley Meets Prince, born PRINSLEY.
About Prinsley
Family roots in Napa Valley. A global perspective on wine. A regenerative vision for what comes next.
Prinsley is a family-owned, women-owned wine and hospitality company founded by husband-and-wife team Kim Ilsley Prince and Rea Prince. We craft small-production wines from distinctive vineyards across Napa Valley, Sonoma County and Mendocino County, create thoughtful Wine Country gifting programs, and host private wine experiences rooted in connection, education and place.
Our story stretches across generations and continents—from a family vineyard in the heart of Yountville to vineyards and cellars around the world.
And now, we're coming home.
Four Generations in Napa Valley
Kim is a fourth-generation Napa Valley native from a family of grape growers with deep roots in the Yountville and Stags Leap District communities.
For more than 60 years, her grandparents have cultivated their Yountville property—a place of vineyards, gardens, orchards, family meals, celebrations, hard work and generations growing up together.
It is part vineyard, part family history, and very much home.
In 2026, Prinsley begins a meaningful new chapter: making wine from Kim's grandmother's vineyard for the first time.
After years of sourcing fruit from growers we admire throughout Northern California in Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino, traveling and working in wine around the world, and building Prinsley together, bringing this vineyard into the Prinsley story feels like both an evolution and a homecoming.
It also represents something we care deeply about: how the next generation can honor agricultural heritage while helping family farms remain resilient, relevant and alive for generations to come.
A Winery Built From a Life in Wine
Prinsley began in 2019, shortly after Kim and Rea were married.
Our first wine came from Lovers Lane in Yountville—a fitting beginning for a husband-and-wife project.
But the foundation for Prinsley was laid long before the first vintage.
Rea's path through wine has taken him around the world, studying and working across Italy, France, Israel, New Zealand and California. His experience spans viticulture, enology, soil ecology, regenerative agriculture, compost systems and natural farming.
Kim grew up inside Napa Valley's agricultural and hospitality community and has spent more than 20 years working across wine, hospitality, photography, communications and events. Her relationship with Wine Country is both professional and deeply personal: this is where generations of her family have farmed, gathered and built their lives.
Together, we bring those two perspectives to Prinsley: deep local roots and a global understanding of wine.
The Wines
We make wines we want to drink from vineyards and farmers we believe in.
Rather than building Prinsley around a single estate or varietal, we seek out distinctive vineyards across Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino and work with varieties that express those places beautifully.
Our wines have included:
Chenin Blanc
Sparkling Chenin Blanc
Chardonnay
Pinot Noir
Grenache
Carignan
Sangiovese
Syrah
Rosé of Syrah
Production is intentionally small.
We prioritize organically and regeneratively farmed fruit whenever possible and favor thoughtful, minimal-intervention winemaking that allows the vineyard, vintage and variety to remain recognizable in the glass.
The goal isn't to make wine conform to a formula.
It's to make vibrant, expressive wines with integrity.
Regeneration From the Ground Up
Regenerative agriculture isn't a marketing phrase at Prinsley. It is foundational to how Rea works with vineyards and how we think about the future of wine.
Healthy vineyards begin with living soils.
Rea's work in soil biology, viticulture, compost systems, permaculture and regenerative agriculture informs both Prinsley and his work with growers seeking to reduce inputs, rebuild biological diversity and create healthier, more resilient farming systems.
For us, regeneration also extends beyond farming.
We believe healthy businesses should strengthen the ecosystems around them—the growers, families, communities, employees and landscapes that make them possible.
That philosophy influences who we work with, how we make wine and what we choose to build.
Meet Kim Ilsley Prince
Co-Founder | Creative Director | Hospitality & Gifting
Kim is a fourth-generation Napa Valley native, wine professional, photographer, storyteller and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience across wine and hospitality.
She leads Prinsley's creative direction, hospitality, partnerships, corporate gifting and private experiences, bringing together her background in luxury wine, visual storytelling and gathering.
For Kim, hospitality is ultimately about making people feel considered.
Whether she's building a gift for 25 executives, creating an experience for a corporate group or setting a table in Wine Country, the intention is the same: make it personal, beautiful and meaningful.
Meet Rea Prince
Co-Founder | Winemaker | Regenerative Viticulture | Leadership Coach
Rea is an internationally trained winemaker, winegrower and regenerative agriculture specialist whose work has taken him through vineyards and cellars across several of the world's wine-growing regions.
His education and experience span viticulture and enology, soil biology, permaculture, Korean Natural Farming, regenerative systems and leadership coaching.
At Prinsley, Rea oversees winemaking and works directly with vineyards and growers, combining technical winemaking knowledge with a systems-based approach to soil and plant health.
His guiding question is simple: How can we make exceptional wine while leaving the land healthier than we found it?
More Than the Bottle
Wine remains at the heart of Prinsley, but hospitality has always been part of our DNA.
Today, Prinsley works with individuals and companies through three primary offerings:
Prinsley Wines
Small-production wines from exceptional vineyards throughout Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino.
Corporate & Custom Gifting
Elevated Wine Country gifting for clients, employees, executives, real estate closings, events and special occasions. Programs range from curated wine gifts to fully customized collections with regional products, personalization, custom branding and multi-address fulfillment.
Private Wine Experiences
Custom tastings, winemaker-led experiences, blending workshops, corporate gatherings, executive retreats and private events created throughout Wine Country and at select partner and private venues.
Prinsley does not operate a public tasting room. Our wines are available directly, while private experiences and custom gifting are arranged by appointment.
Rooted Here. Looking Forward.
Prinsley is both a continuation and an evolution.
We are carrying forward generations of agricultural history while asking what a small wine company can look like now: more connected to its growers, more attentive to the health of the land, more personal in its hospitality and more creative in the ways wine brings people together.
From Kim's family's vineyard in Yountville to the growers we work with throughout Northern California, every bottle begins with a place and the people who care for it.
This is our way of honoring where we come from while helping cultivate what comes next.
Welcome to Prinsley.
